We ask for the patience and understanding of our patrons, as we move into Phase 2. There will be a limit on how many people we can have in our buildings at a time and all those who enter must wear a mask. Unfortunately some areas of the library will not be available for use. Our stack areas will be closed, although we will have limited browsing of new materials in all locations. Also we have had to close all of our seating and study areas and have had to remove our newspapers. At the Central Library, the C-Lab, Teen Room and Children's Room and the children's space are closed and at the Auburn branch is also closed.

The Edward Costa Memorial Arlington branch, which is located inside the Cranston Senior Enrichment Center will remain closed at this time.

There will be limited access to public computers. Computers will be available by reservation only and will be limited to one hour of use. Limited computer assistance will be available. Library staff will be maintaining physical distance and contact time for your health and theirs.

In addition to mandatory wearing of face masks on entry to the building, we urge everyone to take precautions and follow all guidelines seriously. Maintaining 6' social distancing while in the library is extremely important. If you are sick or experiencing any symptoms of illness, we ask you that you refrain from entering the library at this time. We have hand sanitizer for your use and restroom facilities for handwashing at all locations. Our Library staff are counting on you to follow these guidelines to make coming to the library a safe experience for all.

Our staff will be available to help fill your requests for books and DVDs. We will try and expedite your transactions as quickly and safely as possible.

I close by again asking for your patience and understanding as we all navigate through these uncertain times. We can all treat each other with compassion and empathy and get through this together. We miss all of our patrons and look forward to seeing you again soon!
