Youth 3D Printing

GENERAL INFORMATION

The Cranston Public Library has 4 Cube 2nd Generation 3D Printers which we use for youth programs.  Patrons may also attend the C-Lab's open technology hours to use the printers or submit files to be printed and then picked up at a later time. Visit the 3D printing page for more information.

3D Print School Supplies @ Central*

Sept 19, 20 & 21, 6-7 PM

Grades 3-8

Learn how to design pencil toppers, rulers, and stencils using Tinkercad 3D printing software on library laptops. Each participant will have the opportunity to showcase their work online and print at least one object that they design. Objects that take more than 20 minutes to print can be picked up the following week.

Registration is required. Please call or come into the Central Library.


3D Print Costume Details

Sat, Oct 15, 2-4 PM @ Hall*

Sat, Oct 22, 2-4 PM @ Oak*

Grades 3-8

Learn how to design cool additions to costumes for comic conventions, holidays, or imaginative play. Each participant will have the opportunity to design an object using Tinkercad 3D printing software on library laptops. Printed objects can be picked up the following week.

Registration is required.  Please call or come into the William Hall Library to sign up for Oct 15 or the Oak Lawn branch to sign up for Oct 22.


3D Print Gifts @ Auburn*

Nov 14, 15, & 16, 4-5 PM

Grades 3-8

Learn how to design earrings, keychains, and other artistic gifts using Tinkercad 3D printing software on library laptops. Each participant will have the opportunity to showcase their work online and print at least one object that they design. Objects that take more than 20 minutes to print can be picked up the following week.

Registration is required. Please call or come into the Auburn branch.


DESIGN SHOWCASE

These designs were created by library staff for library programs, or by kids who attended library programs.  If they give their permission, we include the kids' first names in the names of their designs.  Any of these items can be downloaded for 3D printing or edited in Tinkercad.
