YAHO (Young Adults Helping Out) @ CRANSTON PUBLIC LIBRARY!
Ya WHO? It could be you! Read on!
Do you want to ...
- Be a part of a teen volunteer group?
- Help plan teen programs?
- Have a say in what books, CDs and DVDs we buy for teens?
- Assist with shelving books, preparing programs, and other great grunt work?
If you are in grade six or higher and answered YES to any of these questions,
Cranston Public Library needs you! Call or stop by the Central Library or any of our branches to fill out a YAHO volunteer form. As part of the YAHO team, you'll earn
community service credit and get some great experience for college applications and job resumes. So... come in to talk to us and register for our next volunteer training session.
You can YAHO it alone, or join one of these groups:
TEEN TEAM Meet monthly at the Central Library to help select teen materials, plan teen events and promote teen services. (We throw in music, food and fun!)
JUNIOR FRIENDS
Just like the adults in our Friends of Cranston Public Library, the "Junior Friends" support the library system by fund raising. There's an annual membership fee of
$2.00 (not much, but it adds up). Work with other middle and high school students to create some interesting library-related projects that will provide financial support for many of our teen programs.
