CPL Celebrates RI Library Day with Fine Amnesty

Join Cranston Public Library as we participate in the third annual statewide celebration of Rhode Island Library Day on Saturday, April 8! This event, organized and promoted by the Rhode Island Library Association, kicks off the week-long nationwide celebration of National Library Week (April 9-15) and invites all Rhode Islanders to visit and explore their local libraries. All open Cranston Public Library locations will celebrate Rhode Island Library Day by offering "fine amnesty" (waiving fines on overdue items returned on the day). Other library events taking place on Saturday, April 8 include:

Books for Breakfast!

11:00 AM - 12:00 PM  |  Oak Lawn Branch

Children in grades 3-5 are invited to share their favorite book, or a book they are currently reading over donuts and orange juice!  Registration is recommended and can be made by calling (401) 942-1787.

Rhode Coders Club

1:30 PM - 3:00 PM  |  Central Library

Are you an adult who doesn't know anything about coding? Would you like to improve your analytical skills or explore a potential new career? Join the Rhode Coders Club for this 10-week series on web basics. Space is limited, so please register at prov.pub/CranstonRCC.

*"Fine amnesty" applies to overdue library items which are returned on Saturday, April 8th. Fine amnesty does not apply to damaged materials, or lost or billed items.
