LIBRARY GOVERNANCE & ADMINISTRATION
The Cranston Public Library is governed by a seven-member board of trustees
appointed by the Cranston City Council. Meetings of the Board are held on the second Tuesday of the month. Send correspondence to members of the Board care of the

MEETING ROOMS
Meeting rooms of different sizes are available for community-interest organizations or
educational groups. To learn more about fees and availability, apply at your neighborhood library.
GALLERY and EXHIBIT SPACE
Artists, collectors and craftspeople are invited to contact the library about exhibit
space. Call John Cory, 401-943-9080 ex. 101 about gallery space at the Central Library, Lynda Ross, 401-943-9080, ex. 111 for exhibit case availability or contact your branch librarian.
NOTARY PUBLIC
The Central library has a notary on staff. Call 943-9080 ex. 100 for an appointment.
PUBLIC BEHAVIOR GUIDELINES
The Cranston Public Library has adopted behavior guidelines to maintain an atmosphere

PARENTS and CHILDREN
Parents are responsible for the behavior of their children in the library. Parents should
note library closing times and be aware of library guidelines concerning unattended children. MORE INFO
FOOD AND DRINK
Beverages in lidded containers or in bottles with screw top or snap top covers may be
consumed at tables and carrels only. Canned beverages, juice boxes, and/or pouch drinks are prohibited.
Beverages are not allowed in computer rooms, at public access computers or in the book stacks.
Food is not allowed in the library.
CELL PHONES, LAPTOPS, etc.
The use of personal electronic equipment (cellular phones, laptop computers, tape
recorders, cameras and the like) may be limited to certain areas of the library and must not interfere with other library users or staff.
ANIMALS
Only service animals assisting patrons are welcome in the library.
