The Cranston Public Schools Visual Arts Department presents the 2013 Artsfest at the Cranston Public Library Central Library during the month of May. An opening reception will take place on Tuesday, May 7 from 6 - 8pm. Come admire the creations of some of the best young artists from around the city!
May is Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month. CPL will recognize Asian and Pacific Islanders and their contributions to the United States through stories, music, dance, food and crafts on Monday, May 20 at 4:30 pm in the Central Library Meeting Room. This program is sponsored by the Junior Friends Group of the Cranston Public Library and is open to families. No registration required.
Cranston resident Davy Huang was singled out for special recognition at The Rhode Island Family Literacy Initiative (RIFLI) Volunteer Appreciation Reception recently. Huang became involved with RIFLI as a child, when his parents were enrolled in the program at the Auburn Branch Library.
Author Roger Marshall will discuss how to write and publish a book on Saturday, May 18 at the William Hall Library. He will cover laying out ideas, finding an agent or publisher, negotiating a contract, selling, publishing on the web, and your rights as an author.
